William W. Cummings is currently an Assistant Homefront Editor at USA TODAY.

Previously, William was a part of the Investigative Reporting Workshop’s “Gunrunners” project in partnership with PBS FRONTLINE. He completed the master’s program in journalism at American University’s School of Communication in 2010. As a graduate student, he contributed research to “Flying Cheap,” a documentary on airline safety produced collaboratively by PBS FRONTLINE and the Investigative Reporting Workshop. He also contributed to the follow-up to that investigation, “Flying Cheaper.”

William has written for USA TODAY and assisted in the paper’s 2010 election coverage. He also has contributed to InSight Crime and The Center for Public Integrity.
